Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Gwaltney family and friends in their loss of Derrick . I did not have the honor or privilege of knowing Derrick ,but my heart is saddened by the passing of such a fine young person and hero. May God bring peace to your heart as you reflect on all the wonderful memories you hold so close. Please know that you are in my prayers. My heart was touched by the many wonderful/beautiful things written about Derrick . Derrick you are my hero and you will NEVER be forgotten.

I miss you so very much hun. You have done so much and you are greatly missed by us all in Ohio. You deserved so much and left so soon. I thiink of you all the time...High School was so amazing having you there and being with you...and dont let me forget CP and all the times we spent going from gate to gate and the fun we had that summer. I will never be able to watch Lord Of The Rings withought thinking about the nights we watched it in the attic and how you scared the crap outta me throughout. Nor can i ever forget the games of Hand and Foot with you. Its so hard to say see you again soon in Heaven. I know you are watching down on me and you are with me with all i do in my military career...along with when i deploy to afghanistan in June. I love you buddy...You are gone, but never forgotten. You are my angel, my inspiration, best friend, and my hero.

To your family and other friends-- May God bless you all and keep you as you have lost an amazing person and I hope that comfort, peace, love, and thoughts are all with you during the holidays and always as you lost the best.

Father we entrust our brother Derrick to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever.
