First, my condolences to the family of Johnny Pesky.

Living most of my life in Indiana, I have been asked more times then I can remember why I have been a Red Sox fan for over 60 years. Simple. It came about because of my love for players like Johnny Pesky, Ted Williams, Dom DiMaggio, Bobby Doerr, Mel Parnell and a host of other ball players that I loved so much when I was a youngster. Read the book The Teammates: a Portrait of a Friendship by David Halberstram and you will understand why I love the Boston Redsox and why I loved Johnny Pesky.

I never had the opportunity to meed Johnny Pesky, but I will always fondly remember him as Mr. Reds Sox.

I have a picture of him sitting on a bag of baseballs with a fungoe bat in hand= it looks like it was taken during spring training in the early eighties. I love Johnny Pesky. Rest in peace my friend!

First my condolences to the family. Never got to meet the man, but wish I had the honour of doing so. I saw his heart felt ways on television each time he was at the park. He will be missed by many. Am glad he got his 2004 World Series ring before his passing. Red Sox Nation will never forget Number 6. R.I.P.
The Red Sox now has a guardian angel to watch over them now.

First my prayers go to the family. Never got to meet the man just see him on television, but wish I had. He is truly an icon in Boston and will be missed by many. I never even got to see him play but from what I hear he was terrific. He led a full life. Am glad he got to see the 2004 World Series. I remember watching him on television when he got a ring--how happy he was and how much emotion he showed because it meant so much to him. R.I. P.
