My thoughts and prayers are very much with all of Benji's family, friends, colleagues, and to all of those whose lives he touched. I am sad I never got the honor of meeting the man who made me laugh, cry, and feel so much watching his portrayal of Hal Munson every chance I got. Even though I never met him I feel like I lost a great friend who was so wonderful and had so much class.
The way Benjamin portrayed Hal Munson was brilliant with so much depth and emotion. He always touched me with his acting like no other actor ever could. His smile was the first thing I really noticed about him because it was so infectious. He made me want to smile after a hard day at school. Benji just had that way about him. I always wanted to just give him a big bear hug anytime I saw him on my screen.
My favorite memories are anything with Hal and Emily's relationship. And Benji's portrayal of Hal with his love for Emily is what made me a fan of ATWT for life. Their relationship and the way it was so wonderfully acted was just so beautiful and touching. I know I'll never forget it. I was hooked on it instantly from the beginning with the boathouse bombing investigation, the spa kidnapping, their wedding, that magnificent church scene, all of it so incredible. Their relationship was a refreshing surprise and it turned out to be magical.
Rest in peace Benji, you will be so very missed. I hope you know how much you were loved by all. Bigs hugs to the cuddle bear with the BEST smile ever always! Gone but NEVER forgotten thanks so much for the memories. You are the reason I raced home in college everyday to see Hal Munson in action.
Benji wrote me a letter about three years ago and he joked on how I used so many !!!!!!! at the end of my sentences in the letter I had wrote to him. He said you could only use them if you felt that way. I will remember the humor he wrote in that letter and keep it with me always. He also gave me an autographed picture in which he wrote, "With so many thanks for all you do- Love Benji" and I just wanted to say Benji it was an honor and a pleasure.
We love you, and we'll miss you!
