MURPHY - John "Jack" J., passed away Tuesday, December 17th. Born in Brooklyn, NY. Husband of Ursula; son of Josephine and Christopher; brother of Rosemary and Patty; uncle to PJ, Matthew, Mary, Joseph and Christina. Attended St. Frances Prep in Brooklyn. Served as Quartermaster in US Navy aboard the Destroyer Melvyn R. Norman. Graduated from NYU under the G.I. Bill. Jack had a wide ranging career in broadcasting as a successful sales and management executive. Jack had a special gift for friendship and will be missed by his friends and family in New York and Ireland. Jack knew everyone - barmen, Bishops, CEO's, and doormen. All were charmed by his sharp wit and Irish good looks. Jack married the love of his life, Ursula and entertained friends in New York and Long Island. A Mass is scheduled for Saturday, December 21st, 11:00 am at Our Lady of Peace, 237 East 62nd St., New York, NY 10065. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: www.gofundme.com/Noragetchell
