I only recently heard of this guest book. Patrick was a tremendously great human being. He was a very charismatic and loving person who decided medicine as a profession. Had he chosen a different passion he would have been just as good, and more importantly he would have made a difference to all who knew him. A man who didn't look down on anyone and always had a smile for you even when he was stressed. I will miss him, but know the angels in heaven greet him with as big a smile he gave everyone. I will remember his spirit every time I go deep sea fishing. Rest in peace my friend.

Dr. Barrett was my son's doctor from 1999 until he passed away in 2010. My son Thomas was a quadriplegic and Dr. Barrett was not only his doctor but his friend. He gave Tom his e-mail and cell phone number so Tom could contact him at any time. I am so sorry to hear about his passing.

Just heard this terrible news. Dr. Barrett was my primary in Oakdale. I followed him from Commack when he was working at someone else's practice however the trip became to far a few years back. I ran into Patrick in the last year and was so happy to see him. Such a loss. He was a wonderful man. My condolences to his family.

You were not only my Doctor but my friend...there isn't a day that goes by without a thought of you...my heart is heavy and sad that you are no longer with us...it's surreal...but I know and believe that God has a bigger need and want for you ...another plan...a greater plan then what was already great here...you are so missed and loved and cherished by everyone...xoxox.

I am so sorry about his passing. He was a wonderful doctor that I went to for many years. He was so easy to talk to and I will miss him very much. I don't think I can find another doctor that will measure up to him. I send the deepest sympathy and prayers to his family.

I just learned that Dr.B is no longer with us. I am so much shock; he was my doctor for over 5 years and had the biggest heart ever. He was the type of doctor you could talk to and feel like you were being heard. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dr. "Borat"
I had the pleasure of training under Dr. Barrett during a brief rotation while in school. He was an extremely intelligent man and cared deeply for his patients. He will be missed by many I am sure.

I have known Dr.Barrett since he started his practice in Oadale.Over the years we became very close friends. He was like a brother to me!Everytime I saw him he had a big bright smile on his face and was always happy.Being my PCP for all those years he knew me inside and out.Losing him is like losing someone from my own family. In closing I would just like to say that he will be in my prayers and for his loving family in these trying times.May his soul RIP,Amen!
