Alton Oris Paulk

I'll never forget the first time I met Alton. After reading some of these entries it's clear everyone who knew Alton knew of his propensity to have a good time. I met Alton at a little family soiree in Jacksonville several years ago. Like Alton, I like to have a good time, so when I offered him an adult beverage I remember him saying "Heck yeah, I want to party with you big guy!!"

To Dottie, Kevin, and Kelly--we lost one of good ones and my heart goes out to you and the family. You've just got to believe that Alton's looking down on us right now and I'd be willing to bet he's cracking 'em up up there!!

There was no such thing as a bad day at the office with Alton in the building. He could bring a smile to your face and laughter to your heart. A truly wonderful person. You will be missed greatly.

We got to know Alton when he worked for the sheriff's department. He was so funny, he always brightened our day in the civil division at the courthouse. We have missed him since he retired, and I know you will all miss him now. God's peace for you.

I will miss Alton as will a lot of people. Alton was a magnificent prosecutor that I enjoyed working with. He could always make you laugh. I remember when my wife and I was at Ebro Greyhoud one night that Alton was sitting in front of us with some friends. He had proclaimed himself "Mayor of Ebro" and had arranged for everybody's dog to win on every race. When questioned about this by others, he replied he was working on that.
