William R Parks was my first boss after I left the Navy in 1972. At the time, his firm was known as William Parks Associates, Inc. and we were headquartered in San Lorenzo. Bette was the office manager and nothing got past her. Not long after I joined the firm, Bill went into partnership with a fellow rep named W. Bruce Pruitt of Pruitt-Woodman Sales of Redwood City and the firm became Parks and Pruitt Associates, Inc. Bill and Bruce stayed together for close to 10 years and the firm returned to its former name of William Parks Associates. Around 1982, Bill sold the business to me since his health was being affected by his work load. I continued the company under the William Parks Associate's name until I changed it to Edward Blake Associates, Inc. in 1994. It remained so until I retired in 2012. I remember when Bill got his first Golden Wing motorcycle. He and Bette went all over the place. Later, they acquired an Airstream trailer and were making some cross country trips and always seemed to end up in Florida.

Bill will be missed by so many. I was honored to show him and Bettie around and tell them about Shaddai as he came to inquire about becomeing a Shriner. He used to tell me I was his "first line signer". Rest in Peace Illustrious Sir.
