In behalf of St.Andrews Masonic Lodge, I wish to extend our sympathy; Bill was a true hero in our community, a pioneer in his diving, and a wonderful neighbor. He will be greatly missed.

Ms. Eloise, Mark and Kenneth I dont know if you remember me but I was the notary who helped you with the items for Mr. and Mrs. Tant. Im so sorry to hear of Mr. Bills passing and I will keep your family in my prayers.

The Bill I knew was the "hero" of Cascade. We were all so young and having fun in the sun. I watched Bill(or Billy then) dive for hours. Always so nice, always so fun. All the little girls had crushes. I am so sorry for your loss . Remember, memories can't be erased. Carol Marshall Harris

Bill will be missed by so many! He had a way of making you smile and laugh each time you were around him. You never knew what Bill would say next, and that was what made him so special! You will never be forgotten.... "Bonnie"

Bill was a dear friend and someone that we admired greatly for his love of life. He will certainly be missed but never will he be forgotten.

End of an era. My father met Bill at age 15 and worked for SSDS for years, teaching classes, and living out adventures. He and Eloise also had a tremendous impact on mine and my brother's youth as well. As I look back, some of my fondest memories include listening to the stories of the old days, sitting in their den in St Andrews watching old 8mm underwater-footage, watching Bill do a 1/2-gainer off the diving board at Cascade plunge, the HOT SAUCE IN THE SNORKEL TRICK, the message's from 'Pedro' for the Smeller Fellers on the home answering machine, the 4+ mile trek on our bicycles down front beach- stopping at a bar every 2 blocks so dad and Bill could have a drink, the sound of the macaw's yelping in the backroom while sitting in the swing, Percy the Seagull, The Rooster that used to perch on the shower, SCOOBIE chasing us in and out of the yard, the bucket of water above the screendoor, my first dive at 10 years old in his Zodiac with the old snuba system, among many many others. The greatest lesson learned from Bill and Eloise is that no matter what your age, live and love life to the fullest. You're never too old to have fun! I can still see that sheepish grin and contagious laugh. You were truly one of my heroes and always will be.

AIRBORNE! Bill taught me Scuba in the early 70's. I then went on to do a stint with the 82nd Airborne. Bill had a photo of him and some fellow Paratroopers in their chutes in front of the plane. I got some pals, and we copied the pose. I was thrilled to see they had it hanging the the Hatchcover lounge. Bill was an awesome guy! He inspired me! Godspeed Captain Scuba!
