Sylvia T. Aungst, 92, formerly of Pine Grove, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Mifflin Center, Shillington.
Born in Pine Grove Township, April 19, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Susan Ellenbaum Tobias.
Sylvia was a member of Hetzel's United Church of Christ, Pine Grove.
She had been employed at the former Alcoa Aluminum, Cressona, and then as a presser at the former Summit Station Mfg., Pine Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley E. "Danny" Aungst, on Dec. 9, 1987; and eight brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Verna, wife of Jim Hartman, Reading; a niece, Betty Stine, Tremont; three nephews, Timothy Murphy, Tremont, Doug Hartman, Emmaus, and Greg Hartman, Fleetwood.
Services were held Monday, March 11 at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Mary Lou Eckels officiating. Interment followed in Hetzel's Cemetery, Pine Grove. The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in her memory to Hetzel's UCC Church Memorial Fund, 261 Hetzel's Church Road, Pine Grove, PA 17963.
