Anything to provoke smiles and laughter....that's how I will always remember Joel. A hard-working stand-up kind of guy!
Honey your kids miss you very much. Pammy kisses your picture every day. I have made sure your guest book will remain online. Thank you for all the Nice comments about Joel.
I so enjoyed working with Joel at Cruise West. He was supportive but always let you know how he felt. You knew where you stood with him. What a character. Deepest condolences to his family. He was so proud of you.
Sharri and kids. I remember the first time I met Joe I thought he was a little cookoo. Then I learned to understand and appreciate his dry, quirky wit. I was a little intimidated by him as well because he was such a ferocious protector of Pammie. He was sweet, generous, funny, but don't make him think you were not doing right by his little girl. I appreciated how much of a protector of his family he was. That funny, gentle, kind, man will be missed.
Joe is amazing person and he will be truly missed by all who knew him. I am so sad to hear of his passing. I will pray for his beloved family and repose of his soul. May God hold him in the palm of his hand. Hugs, Christine
Joel was my friend. Words can not describe how much he will be missed. He will be thought of often and those memories will bring joy and times of laughter. Be at peace my friend and make the angels laugh. Now who will I buy slippers and pajama bottoms for @ Christmas? That's right your wife squealed how much you always looked forward to getting your new pair. You will be missed my friend. Rest in peace.
Our love goes out to you Sharri, Pammie, and the boys. Stick together and know that we feel your pain with the loss of such a good guy..all our love, Aunt Shawn and Uncle Gary
Joel was a delight to be with at CruiseWest. He did not have bad days. He would not allow himself to do that. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with Sharri and the kids. Joel, catch up with Chuck West, talk about Alaska and relive the old days.
Joel was a big part of making the summer of "08" very special for this Michigander! He welcomed me into his home and made me laugh every time I saw him. Godspeed Joel!
So sorry to hear this; I attended UAF same time as Joe (me 1986-1991). He was a fun guy...saw him a few years ago at the airport...joked like it was UAF all over again. Very nice guy.
I am so sorry for the loss of your husband. It is comforting to know "God cares for you" and invites you to look to Him for comfort. 1Peter 5:6,7
Joel, you will be missed. I am glad I got to know you some at FMH.You were a friendly, always hardworking man.My heart is heavy knowing you left this world so early. But you will be ok up there. Until we meet again.God bless, and my condolences to the family.
I knew Joel from work. I am deeply sadden by his early death. A friendly, hard working man, as I have ever seen.It was good to know,he would have been there for you,if you needed him. God bless you Joel. And my regards to the family.
God now has a wonderful angel to watch over all of us. Too soon too soon
So I was talking with our Friend Jim Mitchell about Joel and his unbelievable Alaskan character the other day, and then I saw a SAAB. This SAAB was exactly like Joel's and I just started laughing. Joel always loved and joked about his SAAB like it was a Ferrari. I can't help but remember the many times we laughed and joked about life. Your great sense of humor and Alaskan character will certainly be missed Joel!
Joel you are missed so much down here, you were an awesome Daddy and Hubby, if Sharri was sick or down you were always there for her, took care of her and the kids, Matt and Pammy couldn't of asked for a better Daddy. and Sharri would of never found someone to take care and love her better than how you did. You always had everyone around you smiling and laughing. I know you will keep an eye on Sharri and the kids from up there, you know we are here for them, just wish you were still here too. Sharri, hold tight to the pictures we have gone through and the memories for comfort, you know you can count on your friends for strength, and always remember how much we care about you, Matt, and Pammy.
Worked with Joel for many years when he was a driver-guide extraordinaire for Cruise West! Always busy and an incredibly hard worker. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Joel, We had some good times with the Cruise West folks, and you were always a sense-of-humor, knowledge, and helpfulness to all. You always loved and talked about your family. I'll miss you, old buddy. My thoughts and prays are with you who must stay behind. We will all feel the loss of Joel.
Oh Joel , I will miss you buddy !! You could always make me laugh and smile when having a bad day !! It was an honor being your friend and co-worker !! May you rest in peace ! My thoughts and prayers to your family at this time !!
Joel loved Fairbanks and was a great Ambassador and devoted father. Any Cruise West guest who was lucky enough to have him as a guide left Fairbanks truly enriched ...a veritable hub of information, history and insight into Golden Heart City... Am sure CHuck West met him at the pearly gates to welcome him home.
Joel you always knew whn to stay busy, which was all the time and you cracked me up everytime I had a chance to work with you. Much love to Sherrie and the kids.
Joel will be missed by many. I had the opportunity to work with Joel and every day he made me laugh and smile! Thanks Joel.
Joel you always knew when I needed a laugh. You will be missed. Sharri we are so sorry. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
