George A. Bender, of North Pole, passed away on May 20, 2014.
George was born to George Ford and Madeline Bender, of Chicago, on Oct 20, 1942.
After George graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago he joined the United State Air Force, where he served as a reconnaissance electronics manager. He went on to meet his lovely wife, Patricia, in Mildenhall Air Force Base, England. During their time together, they lived in England, Nebraska and later moved to Alaska where George retired with his family.
He loved to watch the Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks with his son and had a love for playing the piano. George had a generous and loving heart and was always there to help someone in need. He had a tremendous love for his family.
George leaves his wife, Patricia; his son, George Bender; daughters, Julie Hixson and Sharon Bender; his beautiful grandchildren, and many family members and friends.
Donations may be made to your local Hospice in George's name, in lieu of flowers.

Pat and family, I am so sorry to hear of George's passing. I will keep you in my thoughts, and often think of our long ago times together. All of the good memories of George will always stay with you and someday you will laugh and smile at those memories.
