Percell Holland, Jr.
Pine Level
Percell Holland, Jr, 52, of 140 James Drive Pine Level, died Sunday, December 2nd, at the SECU Hospice House. He was born in Wilson County, September 28, 1960 and was the son of Pearl Hales Holland and the late Percell Holland Sr. He was married to Pam Wainwright Holland.
Mr. Holland was a member of the Micro Fire Department for 32 years and had been serving as President of the Board of Directors and served as Chief for 20 years. He was a member of the Micro Rescue Squad, a member of the North Johnston EMS, and a member of the Johnston County Fireman's Association were he served as Secretary. Mr. Holland was also a member of the Johnston County Rescue Association where he has served as President. He was a member of the North Carolina Rescue Association and the North Carolina Fireman's Association. Mr. Holland served on the Advisory Board of Micro Pine Level Elementary School and was a member of Micro Athletic Association where he has served as President. He has served on the Micro Town Board where he was the Police Commissioner during his tenure. He retired from Coeco Office Systems after 31 years of employment.
The Funeral Service will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, December 5th at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton with the Reverend Paul Nicholson, Reverend Walter Blackmon and Reverend Harold Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in the Holland Family Cemetery on Oak Grove Inn Road with Fireman's honors.
He is survived by his wife Pam Wainwright Holland, sons; Labon Patrick Holland of Micro, and Justin Lee Holland and fiancé Melinda Humphries of Micro, stepson; Matthew Dale McDaris and wife Tamara of Selma, mother; Pearl Hales Holland of Micro, father-in-law; Robert Wainwright of Pine Level, brother-in-law; Scott Wainwright of Raleigh, Sister-in-law; Gloria W. Sykes and husband Albert of Selma and special canine friend; "Chief".
The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 4th at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
