To Charlotte's family, I've written this poem in memory of Charlotte on her 7th birthday. I hope it will give you a little peace and comfort. I apologize for being late for her birthday.
In Memory of Charlotte Bacon
February 22, 2013
All too soon your precious Charlotte went away
As she resides in your thoughts every day.
Thoughts of her each morning leaves you quite shaken
Feeling another day that your heart is breakin'.
Being without her is so hard to bear
But she's safe now and in God's care.
But remember God only let you have her for a little while
This darling and loving little child.
Can you imagine when Jesus met her at the 'Pearly Gate'
How she lit up Heaven with her radiant smile and didn't hesitate.
"Do you have animals in heaven 'cause I want to be a vet?"
Jesus wrapped his arms around her and said, "How could I forget".
When she looked around she saw Tae Kwon Do being practiced by others
She was anxious to show them what she had learned from her father and her brother.
So you see your baby girl's as happy as can be
Running around playing and sitting upon Jesus' knee.
So the life of Charlotte Bacon let us celebrate
With one so young who had the unique ability to communicate.
Through her family and friends her memory will live on as will her spirit and character
And through them she will be remembered from now 'til ever after.
And let me leave you with one last thought
To help cope when feeling lonely and distraught.
It's okay to weep for Charlotte whom you loved so much
It's okay to need to see her smile and yearn for her little girl touch.
It's okay to show anger and shed a river of tears
It's all part of the healing process to help cope with the loneliness and fears.
So bow your head in the most earnest prayer and say
“Thank you dear God, ‘ere the time be so short, for sending her my way.”
