In Loving Memory of Josephine Gay

It's been a year since your darling Joey went away
Since you've seen her it seems like forever and a day.

With your heart aching it seems it will never heal
It seems like the loneliness you will forever feel.

So celebrate the life of your precious 'Boo'
Even though the years with her were few.

Think of her riding her bike to meet Jesus as He takes her hand
To show her her very own lemonade stand.

Imagine the angels gathering round to enjoy a cup
As her Sandy Hook friends come running up.

Think of her loving heart and beautiful smile
Remembering God gave you this beautiful child.

Think of her playful spirit and joy of giving
This little girl who made life worth living.

Think of her when you look at the night sky
As the brightest star winks, this is her way of saying hi!

And don't be surprised if you look at the rainbow
And it has about it a purple glow.

Now as you continue to celebrate the life of your precious little girl
The one who put her daddy's heart in a whirl.

Know that she's happy and will watch over you from above
Know that through Jesus she feels your warmth and love.

So bow your head in the most earnest prayer and say
"Thank you dear God, 'ere the time be so short, for sending her my way."
