Nancy June Pennington
BALTIMORE, MD – Nancy June Pennington, 78, of Baltimore, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Gilchrist Hospice Center, Towson, MD.
Born on September 18, 1935 in Keyser, WV, she was a daughter of the late Norman B. and Louise W. (Thurston) Via. She was also preceded in death by her husband Raymond A. Pennington, a son, Curtis Pennington, a daughter, Lori Pennington and a brother, Ronald David Via.
Mrs. Pennington was a Toll Police Officer of the Maryland State Department of Highway. She was a member of Patterson Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are her three sons, Jeff L. Pennington and wife Lorraine, Steven R. Pennington, and Eric T. Pennington, all of Baltimore; her four sisters, Joyce Oates of Baltimore, Sharon Paugh of Mt. Storm, WV, Sue Blizzard of Keyser and Donna Pancake of New Creek, WV and her two brothers, Norman Via of Swanton, MD and Jerry Via of Keyser. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Shawn McDowell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to services.
Interment will follow in Nethkin Hill Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV.
