CALVERT, CATHERINE Catherine Calvert of Branford, died Wednesday June 25, 2014 at the Madison House. She was the wife of John W. Calvert. Mrs. Calvert was born in Branford April 13, 1928, daughter of the late William M. and Hedwig Nelson Pacheco. She had formerly worked as a nurse’s aid at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and was a caregiver for many family members. She was a member of Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford. Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter, Arnona (John) Cappiello of Branford; her granddaughters, Kim (Steve) Jahn, Kristen Cappiello, Katie Coates and Jaaniece Coates; and her great-granddaughter, Liliana Cappiello. She was predeceased by her daughter, Claudia Coates; her sister Helen Cusic Altmannsberger and her brother Homer Cusic. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 10:00 am in Tabor Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Tabor Cemetery. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. The W. S. I was thinking about Big Kate the other week as the small graduation Roses were blooming. That's what she called the little roses that would bloom now. And we'd always would talk about and would admire the flowers and wildlife in the yard . I miss you Kate , and know your honey is now with you . Hello to you Janiece and little Katie.
