Dear Nancy and the Ruddle Family,
We were so saddened to hear the news.
He was such an amazing person whom we admire and highly respect. We are sending our thoughts and deepest sympathies.
My thoughts are with you and your family. It was a privilege to work in Frank's lab in the eighties before I trotted off to music school. I have always treasured the years I worked there, and always appreciated the opportunity. He was a wonderful and great man, and I will always remember him and those years with fondness and humor!
The tall, distinguish gentleman with his beloved Nancy graced St. Andrew Church, Block Island, for years beyond memory. Quiet but friendly, his stature will be missed in our Church and on this Island. Sunday, we prayed in thanksgiving that his good soul has entered into eternity. And we prayed for Nancy and all family members that God grant you that peace that passes understanding. God bless you in every way. Fr. Joe Protano
Dear Nancy & Ruddle Family:
My heartfelt condolences to all. It was a privilege to have been a member of Frank's lab. His warm and friendly smile and his excitement in pursuing fundamental research in genetics and development was a great boon to me. His intellect attracted a wonderful group of colleagues to his laboratory and he strongly encouraged creative and independent thinking. I am greatly saddened by his passing. I am tremendously greatful for his guidance and for the wonderful insights in genetics revealed to me in his lab.
I was saddened to hear of Frank's death. I am very grateful I had the opportunity to work in his lab. He was a wonderful and inspiring teacher who will also be remembered for his encouragement and mentorship of the many women in his lab.
Frank was a great teacher, role model and source of inspiration to me throughout my time at Yale and beyond. (You were, too, in other ways!) The obituary notes his pride in his many students, and we were proud to be included in this group.
I was so sorry to hear of your husband's death. He was certainly an extraordinary man and an extraordinary scientist and teacher. Our prayers are with you and your family.
Nancy, Janet and I are thinking of you and your family as you deal with this loss. Frank was an amazing man, who contributed so much to the world.
Nancy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Frank was a dynamic force in my life, and in the lives of so many others. I am deeply saddened by his passing. He will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts are with you and the family. He was a truly great scientist and gentleman. I shall never forget the 'lessons' he taught his students. It was an honor to be one.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved husband and father. My thoughts are with you during your time of sorrow.
I will always remember Dr. Frank Ruddle's splendid baritone voice. I very much enjoyed his performances at the Neighborhood School of Music, and I will remember him fondly.
