Like so many others, I grew up watching Richard Lynch on television and never got enough of his performances. He was a unique and ginormous talent. For any writers out there, I believe that there is a real need for a Richard Lynch biography. He deserves to have a book written about him. He was that talented and that interesting and I would be the first to buy it. RIP
I worked with Richard several times starting in the late 80's and only recently found out he had passed on. On March 17th of this year I woke up to this message on my voicemail... "Happy Saint Patrick's Day my Celtic brother....wake up and have a pint" The message trailed off with that Lynch laugh. It was the only message from Him I ever saved.
Hi, Philippe from France. I grew up with Mr Lynch movies and the many TV shows in which he always was the best part of the cast, very often playing the "bad guy", that always caught your attention. Strange to say, but I was always looking for him through the TV programm. Then, surfing on internet, I discovered interviews on youtube, and I was very touched that he appeared to be a truly very nice guy in life. Many comments, pictures and videos posted on internet by fans all over the world always confirmed that. I never read a bad word on him. People who approched him (fans, but directors, producers,...) were always enthousiastic.
His acting had something... very special, that made everything he did immediately credible. Whatever he did, in fact. Yes, he was the "bad guy" most of the time. But I always felt very difficult to "hate" any character he played.
One last word, about one of my regrets. I planned to go to visit california, for some vacations, and I had the project to visit him, at his Paradise View Road home, in Yucca Valley. I planned to send him a letter before, of course, but, you know how it is, you always think you have time for that, and you delay. I was starting it when I read on my newspaper in France that he just passed away (yes, he was pretty popular in France amongst my generation - people who just turned 40). I shouldn't have waited for so long.
I just wanted to say, even 4 months after he died, that I'm still very sad he passed away, and I present all my condolences to his family and friends.
Philippe A., from France
I received my first kiss from Richard in Brooklyn when I was fourteen years old. He was a great guy. He had loads and loads of friends in Brooklyn and on behalf of them and myself, you made us very proud and left us with a great lesson. You are now with my wonderful husband of 42 years and your very good friend Brian Malone. R.I.P. Richard and worlds of sympathy to your family. Violet Malone, Babylon N.Y.

I can't believe your gone Uncle Richard; I have so many memories starting with the family bus tour in NY around Christmas time in the early 70's. I also will never forget the day my Dad (your brother) died and how you and Barry were there on the Jersey shore to break the news to me I remember it like it was yesterday even though it was 37 years ago. I also remember driving from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale with you after Billy's wedding five years ago and the stories you told me had me laughing all the way. I'm glad you're with Christopher now and someday we will all be together again. Love and miss you Stephen…
My heart is so heavy with the passing of this great actor. Gone but never forgotten.
I had a chance to know you and I feel I am blessed because of it. You are not only great actor, which is an indisputable fact, but a real Gentleman, strong and thoughtful at the same time. I am grateful for every word of support and solace I've ever got from you.
I don't believe you are dead - you body only... I know your spirit, your soul are alive and free.... you are free (at last). And I know you sit next to the coffin now and listen... listen the words of sadness, love and thanks. Do you realize how many people loves you and will miss you?
I will light a candle and fill up the glass with wine.... and I hope my words of sadness, love and thanks will reach you, too.
I will light a candle and fill up the glass with wine... for good bye, for farewell....
Hope I will meet you again
