Pappie, summer is near and it is going to be so hard going to the cottage without you there! Ill always remember you teaching me how to row the boat and swim. You said I was the best at everything I did and strong like a bull! I just want to tell you that you were the best too! And I love u and miss you so much!

Dear Virginia and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing.
He certainly lived a full and active life. I fondly remember visiting your home on several occassions, looking through his scrapbooks, receiving the plaques which we now have at the Swimming Hall of Fame and listening to his many stories, some of which were about his brogther Howard. I also remember your many visits here in Fort Lauderdale, going to lunch with Buck Dawson and receiveing the books which Bob donated to the library. I have slightly re-written his obituary containing most all of the informationthat you sent, but slanted a bit more to the swimming side with information that I had received some years ago from Bob. We will place this on the www.ishof.org page.

My sincere condolances to you and to your family, and I wish you good health.

Bob Duenkel, International Swimming Hall of Fame

Pappy you were a wonderful, kind, and generous person. I will never forget the times spent with the Johnson family at the cottage, some of my best memories. Between your jokes that never got old or making sure no one"feathered" too much when they rowed the boat. You will be deeply missed.

My mother was Gerry Bassett Morrison. She always talked fondly about the Johnson boys. I used to hang out with the Johnson boys too when my family would come to the shore for part of the summer during my jr and high school years. Wonderful memories. They are what keep our loved ones alive in our hearts. My condolences.
