Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers (ps4fs@charter.net) is an organization with groups throughout the country who work to send handmade prayer shawls and/or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one while serving our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church would like to extend our sincere sympathy and to honor your son's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a prayer gift which will be mailed to you. If you are interested, please contact me at gramman@comcast.net with the names and addresses of those who would like to receive one and which gift they would like to receive. We will send our gift as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved on who died while serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

Today I cried a tear,
for a man I didn't know.
He bravely served his country
In a place I'd never go...
He took a stand for liberty
Fighting for those who are oppressed
He wasn't looking for medals
Nor someone to impress.
But he gave the ultimate,
The all of all time alls...
This soldier I never knew
Answered the final call.
Home he will come now
After giving his very best.
And oh! the sadness over whelms me
As they lay this man to rest.
And I know that sitting somewhere
Is a mother engulfed in pain
But cry as she might while begging God
She'll never see her son again.
So today I cried a tear
for a man I did not know.
A man who bravely served his country
In a place I'll never go.

Dear Sgt. Fredsti,

Although I never met you in person, I know you are a fine young man. I work with your sister at Grossmont College. Words cannot express the sorrow of losing someone so young. As a fellow soldier, I wish to thank you for your service and your ultimate sacrifice. God bless you and those who love you.
