To all those involved in this senseless tragedy at NIU, I am so sorry for your pain, suffering and loss. To the parents of those killed, I am the mother of two college students. I cannot even begin to know the pain you must be feeling. God's blessings to you all.

While nothing is more comforting than a country coming together during a time of mourning, sadness hovers over me as to why such beautiful words of kindness and support are expressed when difficult times are forced upon us. I wish all would take a moment and tell your family you love them, your neighbors that you’re there for them and your friends that you care about them. To think about the accomplishment that we as individuals and we as an entire community would achieve if people took the time to unite with one another during times of happiness and prosper this unity into their every day life. To think of what this nation would become, takes my breath away. Thank you for your kindness, support and most importantly your prayers.
To my fellow students, I can give you support.
To the victims and their families, I can give you prayers.
