GREENSBORO, N.C. - Kathryn (Kathy) Kristine Larson passed away Sept. 15, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m. Kathy was born Nov. 11, 1970, in Cape May, N.J., and adopted as a 2-month-old by Paul and Jean Larson. She grew up in Ogdensburg, N.J., and graduated from Wallkill Valley Regional High School. After attending West Virginia University, she moved with her parents to Greensboro, N.C., and finished her degree in social work at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She worked in the accounting department at VF among several other jobs. The light of her life was her daughter, Dominique Kapri Jackson, a senior at Southern Guilford High School. Kathy loved swimming, going to amusement parks with her daughter and reading. After having contracted lupus and eventually kidney failure, she was not able to enjoy all that she wanted. Kathy was very sweet and soft-spoken, loved by many. She loved her family and was very close to her brothers. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Besides her parents and daughter, Kathy is survived by her brother, Andrew, his wife Amy and sons Blake and Grant, of Littleton, Colo.; brother, Matthew, his wife Laura and children Aiden and Katie, of Dacula, Ga.; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 in Kathy's memory.
