OGDENSBURG - Stephen Joseph Kasisky Jr., 67, died after a long illness at his home, surrounded by his family, on June 7. Born to Stephen J. Kasisky Sr. and Mary Kasisky in Franklin, he had lived in Ogdensburg for over 30 years.
Stephen served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and then worked as a snowmaker for Vernon Valley for 23 years and most recently, as a maintenance man for Hillside Estates in Franklin. He was an exempt member of the Ogdensburg Fire Department, a life member of the Ogdensburg VFW, a member of the Vietnam Veterans of Vernon and Franklin and the Vets of America. He served with the Sussex County Fire Police and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Stephen was predeceased by a granddaughter, Michelle White (2007); three brothers, John, William and Paul; and a sister, Mary; and was the beloved husband, for 30 years, of Debra Kasisky (Ross), of Ogdensburg; devoted father of Joan Nicolois, of Franklin, Katherine DelPizzo, of Hamburg, and Lisa White, of Franklin; dear brother of Ruth Gilmore and her husband, Tom, of Sussex; cherished by 11 grandchildren, Vincent, Christian, Charlie, Abygail, Trevor, Nicole, Kendra, Austin, Stephanie, Caitlyn and Blake; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 11, at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin. Fire Department service will be at 7 p.m., Monday. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sparta.
