Such a wonderful teacher and a good man. May he rest in peace.
Thoughts and prayers from
Dave Mazzella (91) and family
Dick was an amazing man that touched my heart with his kindness and dedication. He was full of life and always had a positive attitude about things. I think about him often and I thank God that he brought such an amazing person in my life. He is now reunited with his beautiful wife Rita and their memory will live on through all that he touched with his kind words and wonderful laugh!
Dick Middendorf was a wonderful teacher who had great passion for his subject - Chemistry - and for teaching his students. He made a tremendous difference in so many students' lives. His memory lives on through them. It was a privilege to have him as a teacher.
Dick was so active in so many social justice movements - and never afraid to speak out. His compassion was obviously routed in his faith. I admired him all the more when he continued these activities even as age and health problems took their toll on him. My sympathies to his children and all his family.

I was just thinking about him the other day. It was Monday at St. Ignatius's 7:00 am Mass. A thought came to me that he had passed but I thought it probably happened awhile ago. Very surprised to hear it was just last Sunday. I used to see Dick at the 7:00 am Mass at St. Ignatius. He is a very nice man, may his reward be great!
My sincerest condolences to the whole family. He was a great man.

I remember Mr. Middendorf as a very kind, and spiritual man. My condolences to his family.
The entire La Salle Community is praying for the Middendorf family as they go through this difficult time. May you Rest in Peace Dick. You were a wonderful inspiration to many students during your time at La Salle!
Dick was a very generous and kind man who was ready to help me and many others on many occasions. I will miss him.--Fr. Jim Creighton, S.J.
When I visited Uncle Dick in January '13, he introduced me to every person who entered the door to Villa Madonna (we sat in a lobby) and told me their stories. I vowed to try to be more like him.
Very kind man who wanted justice for everyone... kindness is all I can say about him.
