SIMPSON Bonnie A. Simpson A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013, 10:00 am, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for Bonnie Abadie Simpson, 69, who passed away on January 5, 2013. Father Millard Boyer, chaplain of Lafayette General Medical Center will conduct the mass and funeral service. Following the services, inurnment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery in Carencro, LA. She has rejoined her husband of 49 years Siguard E. Simpson, III, and leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Colleen Charles and her husband David of Destrehan, LA, and Kelly Hebert of Huntsville, TX; one son, Siguard E. Simpson, IV, and his wife Stacy of New Orleans, LA; one brother, Jules Abadie of Lafayette, LA; one sister, Phyllis Abadie of Melbourne, FL; one sister-in-law, Sister Mary Hilary Simpson, OP, of Pontchatoula, LA: and six grandchildren, Emily Hebert, Sarah Hebert, Nicholas Charles, Christopher Charles, Samuel Simpson and Kristina Lotz. She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Beulah Newell and Jules L. Abadie, and two sisters, Betty Joyce Durette and Carol Carter. A native of New Orleans and resident of the Lafayette area for 15 years, Bonnie was an amazing wife, a wonderful mother, a doting grandmother and loyal friend to so many people. She loved to cook and host family dinners. She maintained a devotion to our Mother Mary through praying the rosary every evening, and was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. The family requests that visitation be held at St. Elizabeth Seton on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 9:00 am until time of service.
