GILMORE Matilda Jean "Jeannie" Moore Gilmore entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 13,2013 at the age of 66. Beloved wife of 45 years o Joseph "Willie" Gilmore, Sr. Mother of Joseph, Jr. and Eric (Trenell) Gilmore, Sr. Stepmother of Shere. Daughter of the late Victoria Winesberry Leonard and Curtis Moore, Sr. Stepdaughter of William Leonard Jr. and Mary Moore. Grandmother of Ericka, Eric Jr., Schuyle, Rhyen, Early, Katona, Brion, Aysha, Adrienne and Desmond. Sister of Jerry Sr., Warren, Curtis Jr., Jesse Sr., and Linda Moore, Marguerite, Wilfred, Thomas, Linda, Marsha, Darryl and the late Lillie Rose Eugene. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers, and Members of the First Baptist Church of Verrett, LA and all neighboring churches of St. Bernard, Orleans, and Plaquemines Parishes; employees of Gilmore Carriers, Army Corp of Engineers, U.S. Postal Service, The Praline Connection, and former employees of Simmons Nursing Home are invited to attend the funeral service at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 3737 Bayou Rd., Verrett, LA. Pastor Raymond A. Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment: First Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Rhodes Funeral Home.
