Peggy was my first "girlfriend" on State Street Drive, despite being sixteen years older. The earliest good times we shared included eating fudge and watching shooting stars from our front lawns during WWII blackouts. I called her parents Aunt Eunice and Uncle Hort my entire life. I suppose they were the nearest to being my godparents, though we didn't follow that tradition. I left New Orleans after Tulane, but did visit her in Franklinton with my dad not long before he passed in 2001. She was a truly lovely person, and I have only the most enjoyable memories of her. Peggy and the entire Harold family were gems!
