Who would have thought that uncle Lloyd, the most aloof of all our relatives growing up, would have given me the greatest gift of childhood...a profound belief in magic!
While learning to knit as children up at nana and grandads house, we were told fairies were coming to help us in the night with our knitting. And sure enough, every morning we raced to see how much the fairies had done. It was so neat and beautiful it gave us proof that faries did indeed live in Nana's garden!
Eventually when I discovered that it was uncle Lloyd I learned a beautiful life lesson for which I'm eternally grateful ...
...that challenging stereotypical gender roles in society is a good thing (that males can knit as well as/if not better than females!).
Thank you uncle Lloyd for teaching me that anything is possible if you just believe. It is a lesson well learned in my life and I owe it to you.
You well remain always in my heart.

Rest easy Lloyd. We wont ever forget your friendship when we were living in Northland. We will meet again some day. xo
