I also first met Rob at the NZ Electricity Department drafting office in Quay Street in the early 1960s. I have many happy memories of those times including a yacht race with Rob and Neil Burson against Denis Litchfield and Gary Stanborough to Russell for a dozen beer. We won and the beer was awful!
Rob was Bestman at my wedding in 1968 and Alison and I enjoyed many parties and good times for some years with Rob before he went overseas. Gradually through time and distance our paths separated. We regret having lost contact.
Our Condolences to Jo and the family.
Kind Regards
Colin & Alison Mutter

I first knew Rob when he started his first job with NZ Electricity Department in Quay Street. We created good sailing memories in the 1960s. At that time I owned in partnership with Gary Stanborough (also from Orewa) the Susan (22' Sheryl). We used to anchor off Tindalls Bay. Rob was a guest at my wedding and our paths subsequently diverged, Rob with boats and me with family life.
