I have just driven through Macksville and my thoughts of you Phillip came flooding back and also of your family who must be finding it really hard without you this Christmas. RIP.

Legends say that Hummingbirds float free of time & carry hope of love. This is a token to say that Phillip will always be with you and never be forgotten. As a mother and grandmother your loss has touched a chord. Before Christmas lunch yesterday I recited these few words with my family in dedication of Phillip.

We never actually met Phillip or any member of his family but first heard of him when he was 13 years old. We had retired from a busy life in Sydney and were settling in to Nambucca Heads and were having dinner at the Star Hotel when his name came up. We followed his career from then.
We feel like we lost a grandson. We would like Virginia , Greg , Megan and Jason to know we will be thinking of Phillip for ever as we know thousands of people also who never met him will be thinking of him.

To the Hughes family my deepest sympathy. I lost my husband 12 months ago to a freak accident also. I know the pain you are all feeling, my heart goes out to you.

Rest in eternal peace, Phillip. Although I only knew of Phillip from watching test matches, I have walked the terrible road that his family is now on and have shed many tears for them over the last 2 weeks. By all accounts, a stunning young man taken far too soon. My thoughts and prayers go to his loved ones. He will walk by the side of his family forever. RIP.

I didn't know you Phillip, I don't know your family or friends but I feel the pain as if I knew you all my life. I guess God needed another helper up there and wanted the best and chose you. You will be looking after your family where you are and I pray their hearts feel comfort in that. Rest in peace dear Phillip Joel Huges.

sending my love and thoughts to the hughes family. What a huge loss but you can always be so proud of Phillip what he achieved in such a short time in his life and how he touched so many people. God bless you Phillip Hughes.
