Henry Rosin Obituary

ROSIN
Henry David, MD, FACS, ASHNS, April 1, 1931 - April 13, 2016, of Franklin Lakes. Henry "Hank" Rosin passed away on April 13, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife and children. Dr. Rosin was a prominent head and neck surgeon, practicing at The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ and at Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, NJ, previously at his office on East 83rd St., Manhattan, and subsequently in Teaneck, Ridgewood, and Midland Park, New Jersey. He retired in 2000, after many years as a skilled, compassionate, and dedicated surgeon of the highest standards. At Valley Hospital, Dr. Rosin served as Director of the Department of Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery, was founder and the first president of the New Jersey Hospice Organization, and was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Rosin was a staunch defender of medicine and of patients' right to receive quality care. Dr. Rosin was born in Brooklyn, NY , graduated from Syracuse University and the Upstate Medical School at Syracuse, NY, and received a Heart Association Fellowship. He completed Internship and Otolaryngology Residencies at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Rosin also served as a Captain and Flight Surgeon in the US Air Force, based in Ashiya, Japan. He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, Nancy Peikin Rosin, and children, Diane Huber, Franklin Lakes, NJ; Matthew Rosin, Tokyo, Japan; Laura and Michael Kloeti, Stowe, Vermont; and Robert and Belle Rosin, San Francisco, CA; and beloved grandchildren: Daniel Huber, Alex Kloeti, Eric Kloeti, and Milena Rosin. In addition to being a devoted husband and father, Dr. Rosin was recognized as a formidable collector of Japanese art. His collection of Japanese Tsuba and Sword fittings was world renowned, and the Dr. Henry and Nancy Rosin Collection of Early Photography of Japan, 1860 - ca. 1900 presently resides at the Sackler-Freer Art Gallery of the Smithsonian National Museum in Washington DC. Services will be held at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ, on Sunday April 17 at 2 PM, followed by a reception at the family's residence. For information
