I am saddened having just learned of Ruth's passing this week when I was at SCORE. My condolences to Ruth's family. I can only imagine their grief.
I only met Ruth a few times when she asked me to come speak there. Ruth was friends with my parents who were active members before their passing. I am so shocked.
I can see and feel Ruth's smiling face and peaceful countenance in front of me as clear as a bell. Ruth left an indeligible impression upon me after just one meeting. It was her peaceful and loving spirit that emanated from her and touched everyone who came into contact with her. One would really feel and be touched by Ruth's presence.
It is rare to have someone's face be such a clear picture within my mind's eye. And the picture of her face is accompanied by the feelings I felt when I was with her. She had a peaceful loving presence that just got into you. I still cannot believe it. We are losing so many of the “Great Generation” like Ruth. What will become of the world when they have all left? We will just have to remember them, connect with their spirit, and try and imitate them to carry on their legacy, and so what they brought into the world will not be lost.
I wish someone would post a photo of her in this guestbook for us.
