I just heard about this terrible loss tonight.
Hugh was the 'salt' in the ICBC chior where I first met him. He made everything 'taste' better. A charmer, everyone around him felt better about themselves and their abilities when Hugh was there. Yes, a world class joke teller with an impeccable sense of timing. When we were getting too serious or intense in our attempts and music, Hugh could always lighten the mood and send us straight into peels of laugher or groans. Either way, I was grateful for his love of life and putting that over all else.
On a silly personal note, I think of Hugh everytime I leave New Westminster via Columbia/Brunette, which these days is at least 3x/wk. He always touted that as faster than Canada Way. He literally changed the direction of my life. (Hope he laughed or groaned over than joke) (um yeah, that was my attempt at a joke...)
LOVE LOVE LOVE to you Mary & Colin. We are with you in your pain...searching for the jokes Hugh would say in this painful moment.
With heartfel tears,
