Ray Brownfield was a mentor of mine. I have learned much from him. He was one of my teachers at LOGOS (St. Andrews church program) and took me with his wife on a special trip to the Citadel that I will never forget. Ray also did me the honor of attending a patriotic concert that I was in during high school. He was an honored veteran guest. Thank you for the prayers and all the encouragement you were to me. Marcia, I love you and I'm praying for you. Ray was great soldier, teacher, and a better friend.

Marcia & Family,
God Bless. My wife and I still remember dinner at your house when we were stationed together. We got a kick out of "Pedro" walking and squawking around the house while we ate...a source of amusement for Ray and his navy guests. "Fair winds and Following Seas." Joe and Alana Quincannon

Marcia,

Suzanne and I learned of Ray's death this morning when Colonel Woods called. We still treasure our memories of the good times with you and Ray in Germany. We recall seeing you in Dahlonega in the early 90's when Ray headed up the Mtn Ranger Bn. Ray was truly one of the good guys. You're in our prayers. May God richly bless you. Jim and Suzanne Saine

I was the medic that treated Lt.with the 173rd Airborne Bde. in 1969. We did not always see eye to eye but he was a committed leader and a "Brother". I will pray for him and his family.

I'm very sorry to hear of Rays passing. Gen Dick Woods called me this morning with the news. I have nothing but great memories of you and Ray as a fellow company commander in the 509th Airnorne in Mianz. Will always look back on that time and those that shared that expereince as one of the highpoints of my life. Ray was a great soldier but even more important a good and decent man. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Among some of my most pleasant memories are visits with you and Ray in your home. My heart goes out to you. You know I do, as much as possible, understand.

I only spent a few hours with Ray, at the Democrats' booth at the County Fair last August, but he made a strong impression on me as a man of integrity, strength and passion for his vineyard. I was stunned to later learn that he had been ill because that wasn't the image he presented at all. I am only sorry my husband and I didn't have the time to get to know him better.

Ray was such an inspiration and will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember meeting him as a young child and he was always full of life and provided great knowledge and words of wisdom. The summer times were filled with seeing him at the local Rebel game where he would occasionally be smoking his cigars. As I entered into my financial career I served in Rotary with Ray where once again he would be someone whom I would appreciate his compassion for others. Ray's legacy has shown to be so true as his love for those around him and practicing stewardship was always prominent as he lived out his life.
Ray thank you for the compassion you have bestowed to my family and I- we will miss you greatly.
PS I will always cherish our bottle of chardonnay from Cave Ridge- I know that Randy was so blessed to have worked with you as call you a friend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ray's family during this challenging time.
