My Grandmother had the privilege of accompanying Mr. Shea on the piano during his visit to the Salvation Army senior rest home in Los Angeles Calif. My Grandmother was in her late 80's at the time. He was such a gracious man and such a blessing to all. I can hear him singing praises now and perhaps Elizabeth is playing the piano as well! We have all been blessed indeed!
The first time I heard Bev Shea sing I was a young child and he was at a revival meeting with Billy Graham at Winona Lake IN. What a gift of God they presented to me. More recently I enjoyed their ministry through the Bill Gaither Ministries. What a blessing.
I grew up watching Billy Graham crusade with my grandmother. The beautiful voice of Mr.Shea was a gift from God.
What a servant of The Lord, from a child I have loved to hear Beverly Shea worship The Lord in song. Thank you Sir. The sounds of heaven are richer now. Ruthann.
His God given talent always ministered to my soul. I am thankful to have heard him. The church will miss him.
I grew up watching my brother in christ and a servant of god, we will see you in heaven at gods second return, amen.
Just finished watching "Bill Gather special" about George. I am 66 and as long as I can remember his voice and words has been a blessing to me.
Mr. Shea has blessed my life so much that I can't put it into words. I only pray for more Godly men like him.
a special gifted man from God to deliver messages through songs. a special talent and with heart-filled dedication for the many years will never be forgotten by millions who have heard this special man.
George Beverly Shea allowed God to use him to bless so many with his singing, including me. He and his ministry has been a part of my life for years. I know he's now with our Lord, but he will be missed.

In Christ Jesus
He was a great man in your grand mother eyes. he was a great singer for Billy Graham. Will be miss.
What a wonderful man that God has used to lead others to Christ. I am glad that I grew up at a time when men, such as Mr. Shea and Dr. Graham, proclaimed clearly the Word of God. Mr. Shea's voice was so clear and smoothing. I love to hear him sing. BBN plays a lot of his songs. Thank you to his family for sharing this man of God with us.
What an inspiration! I was blessed to hear "How Great Thou Art" while the thunder was truly rolling in Buffalo. See you on the other side.
I would like to give my respects to George Shea. Even though I didn't know him personally. I understand he was a beautiful singer of hyms and such. I just would like you to know George reminds me of (1 Chorn. 29:28)how as David, George too died at a " Good old age, Satisified in days." I can believe he did live a happy life and brightened peoples lives with his wonderful voice. May you come to see the person he was and remember him for this.
Condolances to the family and all friends. How Great Thou Art was well written, and was well sung.....everytime. So much life and energy at 100+ certainly redefines ''growing old''. R.I.P. Mr. Shea.
George was an enigma. I know I grew up hearing him and Billy Graham, and I know a lot of others did too. I will not consider it a loss that he is gone, but a pleasure having had him in our lives for so long.
I grew up listening to Billy Graham Crusades, my Mother had the TV turned all the way up every time it was on. They still show the Billy Graham Classics on TBN and I love watching them. That group of Christian men changed the world for millions. Mr. Shae had a voice that was big part of the success of the Crusades. "How Great Thou Art" was Mr. Shae's song and he sang it with the Holy Spirit flowing out his voice. He was a great Christian Man and an inspiration to many. His voice will never be forgotten and "How Great Thou Art" will never be performed the same by anyone. God Bless the family and I will see Mr. Shae singing in Heaven one day.
Thank you for dedicating your life for christ through beautiful hymns and songs
The homecoming must have been something else and he is now singing in person to the One he served on earth. Mut'na (thank you) George Beverly Shea for sharing your voice with us.
He was a gift from God to people the world over. The personal welcome by Jesus to his heavenly home must have been something that words would have been inadequate to describe.
Christ's love shone in this gentle man's eyes, smile, heart and wonderful voice! I am 62 years old, and I've listened to him, alongside Billy, for decades, beginning as a young girl, surrounded by my family in our living room. His singing was a sermon in itself! Such warmth and love he put into it! What an amazing blessing he has been to millions, myself just one of them! Though I never met him, I still felt a love and deep thankfulness for him. He had a special place in my heart. I've always loved his "I'd Rather Have Jesus,"...and oh, he does... for eternity!! Prayers for comfort for his family. I feel a "missing," and I know yours is great. But I, also, know there is rejoicing in heaven over the homecoming of this saint! What singing there!! God bless you.
Darlene Jordan, Atlanta, Georgia
While hospitalized a few years back; I had the of hearing Mr. Shea sing. What a beautiful voice!
When your heart is empty, filling it with happy memories of how great thy are!
As a young child, I remember my mother listening to his wonderful music. One song particular is "How Great thou art". My dad was not a Godly father, but he loved to hear him sing this. I know he has a front row seat with his heavenly father above. My sympathy is with his family. Grief not for we know he is in Paradise tonight.
How blessed our lives have been because of this man's dedication to Christ and his music calling mankind to our dear Lord Jesus.
GEORGE WAS A GREAT VOICE FOR GOD LOVE WATCHING HIM ON TV SHOWS AND SING HOW GREAT THOU ART MY FAVORITE SONG PRAYERS FOR THE FAMILY GOD BLESS AMEN.
I wish to express my condolences to the family. In your time of bereavement, please know that God assures us that we will see our loved ones again. I'm sure that with the help of our loving Heavenly Father, your family, and friends, you will receive the comfort and support you need to cope with your grief.
We were so glad to have known Bev even for the few times we did get together. I know you will miss him as will many, many others. Praise God! We know where he is singing now!!
Amen! It was at one of the crusades that was televised I remember being in awe of George and Billy Graham's message. The Lord filled me with the Holy Spirit and I wrote a letter. I don't remember what I wrote but I do remember that urge to write and that it was urgent that I put my feelings and what was on my heart into words as if someone was pushing me to do it. Faithful to the finish is well said and we witnessed the work of the Holy Spirit through the ministry of George and Billy Graham team. Let us carry on that torch and let our light shine before men so that they may give glory to God for the light they see in us.
An angel gone to be with the Lord. Well done, thy good and faithful servant. You gave the world the music and songs it needed and you were a blessing to all who were blessed to hear your melodious voice.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. George Beverly Shea was certainly one of them. His singing was my all time favorite. You are missed and I look forward to meeting you in person in GLORY.
I BEGAN LISTENING TO BRO SHEA WHEN I THIRTEEN YEARS OLD. HIS RECORDING WITH THE JORDANAIRES WAS THE FIRST ALBUM MY FATHER BOUGHT. MR SHEA WAS WONDERFUL CHRISTIAN GENTLEMEN AND HIS LIFE SHOULD BE AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL.
At this very moment in eternity we can be certain that George Beverly Shea is proclaiming over and over,"How Great Thou Art!" May the family find comfort today and in the days ahead.
I know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was happy to welcome you Home in Heaven! I have listened and been a fan of yours since I was 3 years old if not longer! Prayers for your loved ones and I look forward to meeting you in Heaven and hearing you sing again in person as I did at yours and Billy's crusade in Atlanta GA! I will want to hear you sing "I'd Rather Have Jesus" first, as no one can do your hymn as well as you! I bet my grandmother is thrilled you are there; please give her my love! I am praying for your loved ones here missing you that God will comfort them. Thanks to God for letting this world have you for 104 years!
MR Shea gave many millions,, hours of blessings with his voice and testimony..THANK YOU
may your soul rest in perfect piece. I love when Mr.Shea spoke about his mother,I know he is singing with her and those angels right now.To live is Christ and to die is gain.
I loved to hear this man sing! He was always that great voice that "set the table" for Dr. Billy Graham to "preach the Word". The two were like no other in their fields. I was lucky enough to see Mr. Shea at the Billy Graham Conference Center one April a few years ago, and I was in awe!!! What a man and what a singer!! He and Cliff Barrows together were super!! I only wish I could meet Dr. Billy Graham now, and that would complete the package!!! George Beverly Shea will always be special to all of us Music Directors, I'm sure!! God Bless you, the family of this great man! Angie Carr, Tifton FUMC Tifton, Ga.
I grew up hearing George Beverly Shea music and I am better for it. What a wonderful long life he had. God Bless all of you.

Like listening to evangelist Charles Fuller, Old Fashion Revival Hour, Long
Beach, CA, I well remember listening close to the little family radio to
BILLY GRAHAM and his team. It was GREAT seeing them in person at the "Youth For Christ" convention at Winona

Loved playing his songs on piano. Farewell to one of the greatest Christians!!
God gave George Beverly Shea the most beautiful voice that I have ever heard,he will be truly missed.
My one claim to fame is accompanying Mr. Shea when he sang at my old Bob Jones roommate's wedding in Clarendon Hills, IL...he sang "I'd rather have Jesus". He said he didn't sing at many weddings but knew her father well. As he sang, chills went up and down my spine. I'll NEVER forget it! What a blessing he's been to the world!
May you sing with the Angels in Heaven as you did on earth.
So gald we can enjoy your music forever!
"How Great Thou Art" whetted my appetite to watch the '57 NY Crusade. I became a Christian as I watched that Crusade from my home in VA. Thank you, Jesus, for using Bev Shea. I can only imagine how he sounds singing "How Great Thou Art" at the Throne.
I grew up listening to Mr. Shea beautifully sing gospel songs, but when he sing, "This little light of mine"...it became my favorite. <3
I was in the nith grade when I first heard Mr. Shea sing at the Charlotte Crusdade. Everyone was given a copy of "How Great Thou Art." I have always loved hymns, and he was my favorite singer and such an inspiration to me. I sent him a note on his 100th birthday and received a personal reply. You cannot imagine how surprised I was and how much I treasure it.
RIP MR. SHEA...Thanks for all the wonderful songs for many many years. GOD took home a wonderful son.
I love all types of music from Southern Rock to Classical, but whenever I hear George Beverly Shea, I will always stop and tears will fill up my eyes. Something about his voice, his spirit, emulates what Christ wants from us.

It is so sad to hear of Bev's death, he will be missed by the whole world. I have his videos and cd's, last Sunday afternoon we watched Bill Gaither interviewing him on How Great Thou Art and even sang some with him, he was 102 then, what a blessing it is just to watch Rev. Billy Graham's Classic's and he always sang just before Billy preached, oh how he has blessed my soul to still hear his beautiful voice after all these years and what a memory he had. It is Heaven's Gain and our Loss, I want his family to know they are in our thoughts and prayers, and also Rev. Billy's family and Cliff Barrows, we loved them all so much and had the privilege of visiting the Library and Billy's parents home, also the Chapel and Training Center, and planning to go back this year. God Bless Gordon & Jerrie Cowan, Maysville, Kentucky

Heaven will be a great reunion of those who accepted Christ. My father is home with The Lord because of the faithfulness of the Billy Graham crusade team! Thank you for your faithful service to The Lord!

At age 44, I am still amazed by the spiritual strength and dedication of George Beverly Shea. When most people are finishing their lives and preparing for the next part of the journey, Shea just continued to marvel us by doing what he had always done in using his God given talents to inspire people of all walks of life. Great songs like I'd Rather Have Jesus and The Wonder of It All and countless others will live on because of this great singer.
I just got in from choir practice where we had finished a version of The Old Rugged Cross. I mentioned to my fellow choir members of how many times Shea must have sung that beloved hymn and that now he is able to lay his trophies down at the feet of Jesus. I am sure the bass section of Heaven's choir just got a superb addition. God Bless you George Beverly Shea for all the kingdom work you have done. Joey Lewis

George was such a testament to what it means to the serve the Lord throughout one's life. My goodness, his voice would move me in the spirit on many occasions. The title "Icon" does not do him justice. Rest in Eternal peace George.
May God Bless his family.
You will truly be missed and remembered as a great man of God and a great singer of His music. My family and I listened to Billy Graham crusades every year while I was a teenager. Because of your broadcasts we are all saved today. George will be missed here but Heaven's gained a wonderful saint.
He will be greatly missed, but his music will go on to sooth others. I was honored to hear him in person and have many of his albums. His music touched the lives of many and I think he had as big of an impact on peoples lives as Billy Graham did. He is now singing with the angels, what a glorious sound that must be.
My sincere condolence for the loss of George your dear loved one. May your fond thoughts of him bring back good memories. Peace and love to your family and friends, and to the spirit that you all show. firstname.lastname@example.org
I grew up listening to the powerful voice of George Beverly Shea. What a wonderful talent he was given, and like a faithful servant he used it to the Glory of God.
We know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is singing with the Angels in Heaven right now, and enjoying "The wonder of it all!"
Sincerely and with love,
What a wonderful God Loving Man Mr. George was.
I listened to Him on the radio for many
years. He blessed me and many others with his musicical ministries.
I come from a vocal musical framily and
sing in our church group, and He has always been an inspiration.

your talent inspired the weak and strong. god bless you
George Beverly Shea has been a part of my life as he sang all those beautiful songs as he and Reverend Billy Graham brought more people to Christ. Blessings to his family.
Remember George singing (on TV or on records) was/is such an inspiration to hear and alway brought me closer to God. Will truly miss him but will always remember who and what he stood for.
My heartfelt sympathy is extended to wife and children. His singing blessed me through the years, and it was at a Billy Graham crusade in Chicago where I had my 2nd date with my husband-to-be in 1959. My prayers are with you.
This will be the third year I will have attended Senior Celebrations at The Billy Graham Training Center in Asheville, North Carolina where I've purchased George Beverly Shea's wonderful CD recordings that I play everyday. Unfortunately, Mr. Shea has been too frail to attend as he had in the past, but his recordings certainly bring to life his personality, talent, and commitment to Christ.
There is no doubt where he is now. However, deepest sympathy to his family, Billy Graham and his family, Cliff Barrows, and the wonderful people at The Billy Graham Training Center who make Senior Celebrations such a time of spiritual renewal and refreshment.
Sincere sympathy in Christ. Elizabeth Baab
George, you need to look around up there for my Mother, Beulah. She loved you so much, and you'll probably find her sitting in front of a Hammond B-3 organ. My grandmother is probably standing next to her, singing all of your favorite hymns. You'll make a good choir.
Thanks for all the good memories, Mr. Shea.
To The Shea Family,
What a Wonderful and Glorious addition to Heaven's Choir. I remember listening to sing on the Billy Graham
Crusades. What Great Singer.
He is home now.
Loved his singing. My prayers are go out to his family.May God bless and keep you in his care.
One of the greats from the Greatest Generation here on Earth, and most important from GODS kingdom has arrived home. Oh the rejoycing that must be going on!! One of the highlights all these years was and still is, being able to watch him sing along side Billy's preaching. He is now alive more than ever. There's more, there's more. Enjoy God's presence. 2 COR 5:8

This saddens me deeply. A legend has gone on to his greatest reward. That sweet face and laughter and beautiful rich voice will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all of the many fans who grew up with and loved him deeply. We will not say goodbye but goodnite my friend and we will see you in the morning when Jesus comes again.

His gospel songs helped me through a period of panic attacks. I played them over and over and over. His music was a blessing from the Lord.
The heavenly choir sounds even more glorious now. I know he heard "well done, thy good and faithful servant."
A voice like none other; a glorious reunion in Heaven when they welcome Bev home.
What a wonderful voice and witness you were for our Lord.
Will never forget the dynamic message he shared through his spirit-filled renditions at the Billy Graham Crusades. Music fills us with the melody of God and prepares our hearts to hear and act upon His words!
my dad went to a crusade with him and billy.......love his music!
I first heard him sing in 2002 and I couldn't believe how strong he sounded. I knew then how the LORD was with him when he sang GOD's praises for all to hear and join in the chorus.
Thank you for countless blessings and for telling the world of God's "Pardoning Grace".
What a wonderful witness for Jesus Christ for all these years. I have enjoyed listening to Bev Shea my entire life, and worshipped my Jesus every time I would hear him. "How Great Thou Art" and "The Wonder of It All" are two of my favorites that he would sing. God bless his family during this time, and remember, there will be a homecoming one of these days. What a wonderful day that will be!
Thank you for the legendary you have left us ! You was truly God man with a great ministry !
As the song goes, "Thank You for giving to the Lord". I am so sad to hear of your passing, but I know you are already singing and walking the streets in Heaven.
I remember my first Billy Graham Crusade (in the mid-50's), at the old Charlotte Coliseum. Bev Shea's singing will always be the singlular memory that I recall. Yes, the Billy Graham sermon was wonderful, but Bev Shea seemed to fill the entire Coliseum with joyous praise!
What a glorious homecoming there was for this brother! "Well done, My good and faithful servant!" Angels circled around the gate to welcome him home. Oh, what a legacy this man's life is.
My dads favorite song was I'd rather have Jesus. We used bev Shea's tape of the song at the funeral. My dad died oct. 9th,2012. Thank you bev Shea for all the sharing so many songs all of those years. A great man. Prayers for his family and friends.
Thank you Mr. George Beverly Shea for all of your beautiful music during my lifetime. You were an inspiration to so many people. My condolences to your family and all of your loved ones. Go now, my friend, and sing in heaven to God and all of his angels. Let the angels sing as you go through the Pearly Gates of Heaven. RIP, my dear friend.
Heavenly Father, we were blessed with Bev's presence for so many years. I thank You for creating such a wonderful human being. I know he is home and in Your loving arms. In Jesus Name. Amen
The passing of this man with the most magnificent voice is very sad. So many will miss him, but I'm sure he's singing in heaven.
His wonderful voice was a gift that he understood as such, and while he will be sorely missed, his gentle ways and the totality of his music will live on and on. God bless.
