Sir, I never had the pleasure of meeting you but as a Marine Corps combat vet, I share your belief in GOD and in those terrible days in nightmarish war, my spiritualism got me through that experience. Your beautiful family and those pictures of love shared, warmed my heart for there were so many who valued and loved you. My deepest condolences to your precious loved ones. My war was Vietnam and, like you, I would enthusiastically serve right now if that opportunity was available. Your generation saved the world and you knew there was an absolute certainty that if you failed, America would not have survived. Thank you for your service and to the sacrifices you made during that terrible time. GOD Bless and keep you, Sir, and your loved ones. Perhaps, we will meet some distant date. Semper fi, Captain John B. Minnick, USMC. Most sincerely, Stephen W. Amodt Captain, United States Marine Corps retired

Dear Lindy, so sorry to hear this news about your father...I had read all about him in your bio from the reunion...I am also sorry that I didn't get to connect with you at the reunion...I've seen all your beautiful pictures and I just know you were the most beautiful daughter to your father!! In sympathy, Carol Ann (White)

By far my favorite story/memory of Papa....I can hear him now!!!
There was an old lady who swallowed a fly,I don't know why she swallowed a fly - perhaps she'll die!
There was an old lady who swallowed a spider,That wriggled and wiggled and tiggled inside her;She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!
There was an old lady who swallowed a bird;How absurd to swallow a bird.
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!
There was an old lady who swallowed a cat;Fancy that to swallow a cat!
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!
There was an old lady that swallowed a dog;What a hog, to swallow a dog;
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!
There was an old lady who swallowed a cow,I don't know how she swallowed a cow;She swallowed the cow to catch the dog,She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!
There was an old lady who swallowed a horse...She's dead, of course!

My most recent visit with my dad was the best. My grandson, Kolin couldn't wait to visit with his great grandfather, war hero, and hear his stories. My daughter, Nicole was with us also and she shares her birthday with Dad (special bond). He was my hero and my dad and I will miss him, but know that he is in a better place and is at peace!
