Dear Melissa and family, I was so sorry to come across this news today. Mr. Brooks was a good man. He always made me feel at home when I would come over. I have thought of you often over the years. Sending much love.

Uncle Carl will be missed by his nieces in California. He had such a quick wit and quite a sense of humor. He made sure to keep in contact with us even after our dad, his brother, passed away twenty three years ago.

Uncle Carl was quite a character. He had a quick wit as well as the Brooks' sense of humor. He is the last of five brothers to pass away. Even living in California, I felt my uncles always watching out for my sister and I. He had the very hard task of telling us when our other two uncles passed away. He made sure we knew. He will be missed.

Mr. Books had the steadiest, calmest demeanor of any principal ever. He was fair and always had a smile.
