Harnish was a great name in Algonquin. Vern and Dorothy were pillars of the community many years ago. I grew up in the same neighborhood where they lived and had the pleasure of knowing them even as a kid. I remember Vern's Phillips 66 gas station back in the 1960s when he offered full-service. My dad would pull up to the pump and Vern would come out to ask his usual question, Fill her up? My condolences to the family. I'm glad that Dorothy will be sharing Vern's burial site. Algonquin Cemetery is a cherished home to so many of the village's movers and shakers. --Brad E. Stych, Ph.D.

I am sorry to hear the loss of your mother. My mother passed away in Nov. I know how hard it is to lose a love one. Dorothy was a very sweet lady and was always so kind to me growing up. Your father and mother were the back bone of Algonquin, while they both lived there. I can remember them both walking around the block, both enjoying each others company. Dorothy is now reunited with Vern. God bless.
