I only knew Gene from my 15 years in Lac du Flambeau. His two or more jobs he held while I knew him, kept him pretty busy, but he always had time for a story, or to answer any questions I had about any of his jobs. I'm glad he got to be with his kids and grandkids the last few years. I just found out this week that on occasion he'd wear a "tux" to one of his jobs. I bet that was a sight to behold.

God bless you Gene

Uncle Gene you were the Best uncle to me and unsure if you knew how much I admired you and looked up to you while growing up. You were so talented, smart, and could do anything you set your mind to do. You had the coolest friends who would come to jam in the basement and so many of them were so cute. I always had a crush on Mario, and what a voice he had. I remember going to the Happy Medium and took my friends with to brag and show you off. Thanks for being like a big brother and always watching out for me when I was a teenager. I was blessed to have you in my life and you gave me 5 beautiful cousins which I love dearly. I was sick today and couldn't attend your Memorial service and will always be sad about missing it. I'm sure they celebrated your life with music, because you brought music to me and so many others. Your talents will live on through Paul, his son Alex, our Laila and will trickle down as more babies are born. I'm sure your brothers and big sis Irene are loving on you. I always thought your music was heavenly so keep it up dear uncle do what you do best, make Music. I will miss you but you are and always will be in my heart for the memories live on. Your suffering and limitations are over, Be Free, and with your Donna, love and hugs Connie & Bob.
