Dear Jane and family,
I just wanted to reach out and tell you how much Jack meant to me. He lead tennis drill groups at Turnberry when I was in high school and I was lucky enough to compete and enjoy playing with amazing local players. I will never forget those wonderful summers. Jack had a genuine love for the game and demanded not only fierce competition and hard work, but respect for the game and our opponents. We all respected and learned so much from Jack is because he was always so enthusiastic and encouraging. His love of the game was infections and he didn't demand anything out of anyone that he didn't demonstrate himself. Hard work, enthusiasm, and respect not only helped me to go on to captain my college team, they help me in my career to this day. I am truly grateful and honored to have known Jack.

Dear Jane and family,

It has been such a pleasure reading about Jack and who he was and what he did outside of MCHS! We of the class of 1960 have been comparing notes and remembering how Jack introduced Sociology to the MCHS curriculum while we were students there and how we all loved it and him. I was one of the graduation speakers in 1960 and Jack helped me choose an appropriate topic and supported me through my jitters. You two have been such an example to so many of us. A cousin from the class of 1961 said that you and Jack attended their 50th reunion and looked better than many of the classmates. So true! :-) I hope that your wonderful personal memories and the regard for Jack of so many others will comfort and give you peace in the difficult days ahead.

Dearest Jane and Family, Our hearts go out to you! I had Jack for tennis lessons and was fortunate enough to have him for my travel team coach. He was so dedicated and loved helping others to enjoy the game of tennis. Jack was so enthusiastic about everything in life and fulfilled such an amazing career as a mentor and friend. Ryan and I loved all of our pot luck dinners we shared together and the games and great conversations. Jane, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May all of your wonderful memories live on forever in your hearts, minds and souls. Carol Kapp-Washburn and Ryan Washburn
