BONNIE JEAN SPOERNER FORMERLY OF SCHERERVILLE, IN Bonnie Jean Spoerner, age 85, of Centerville, OH, formerly of Schererville, IN went to be with Her Lord, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She is survived By her husband of 60 years, Jack F. Spoerner; daughter, Kathleen Spoerner; son, Jack G. (Mary) Spoerner; grandchildren: David (Miranda) Spoerner, and Kimberly (Abe) Farrier; great grandchildren: Olivia, Maverick and Ian Farrier; sister, Colleen; brothers: Wally (Donna) and Wayne (Jean); sister-in-law, Kay Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed working with children. Bonnie would always have games and projects for them to work with. She help found and start the grandparent reading program for the 1st graders. She was a reader for 20 years. Bonnie was a devoted church worker in the Altar Guild, Ladies Aid, Prayer Chain, Steven Ministries, and Share. She was an expert with a sewing machine. In her later years, she made dolls for gifts. The last dolls she made were many small dolls, that her husband called her "Little People". At Bethany, June, 2010, the Art Center, showed her dolls. In July, 2009, her husband knew he needed to be closer to family, so they moved to a cottage at Bethany. Jack cared for her, about a year and a half. On December 13th, when he could no longer care for her, she moved to Courtyard Park, later moving to Woodview. Bonnie loved to travel. Her husband and she were blessed with being able to travel to many places together. We know that she is with Her Lord and that someday we will all be together. Donations may be given in Bonnie's name to St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (Steven Ministries), Munster IN Or Bethany Village Graceworks Lutheran Services (Courtyard Park) Centerville, OH. You will be missed. With all our love, your family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 8601 Harrison Ave., Munster, IN with Pastor Don Stock officiating. At rest Concordia Cemetery. Bonnie will lie in state at the church from 9:00 AM until time of service. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 3:00-7:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN (corner Main and Kennedy). solanpruzinfuneralhome.com

Dear Uncle Jack, Kathy, Jack G, and grandchildren, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Aunt Jean was a strong and gifted women and your love and care for her during her illness was an example to all of your deep love for her. I know there are no words that can take away the pain in your hearts right now, but may you find comfort knowing that she has joined our Father in heaven. Hugs to all of you.
