December 07, 2008
My dear brother Gar
It has been 7 months and yet not a day has passed that the first thing I awake to is the deep loss I feel for you. Time stands still, it seems as if it just happened. Life has not been the same since you've gone. I miss you terribly.
Love always, sis

Dear Tracy,

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your brother Garry. I recently found out of his passing through David Z. My heart and condolences go out to your family. You and I were friends years ago. My daughters attended HANI school with your sons then after we dropped the kids off at school, you and I would meet at Bakers Square for coffee. My father Ken Levinson sends his condolences. He remembers your family fondly as he my grandfather and my brothers' band played some of your family's weddings and Bar Mitzvah's. Sorry you and I lost contact. My husband, daughters and I relocated to the San Francisco area the same time you and your family relocated to Utah. If you need to talk, e-mail me and we will exchange phone numbers. Again, I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Dear Weiss Family,
It's been over 30 years since I last saw Garry, but I remember him as if it were just yesterday. I met him through BBG AZA functions. He was popular and well-liked. I remember him always smiling and always happy. From what I have heard, this did not change. It was a devastating bit of news that I learned that morning. I just want the family to know, we won't forget him and hope that you find peace in knowing how many lives he touched over the years. I still see him hobbling on his crutches with a cast on his leg one summer in the mid 1970's. My family and I offer our deepest sympathy. Debi Greenspon and Family
May 05, 2008

Dear Weiss Family, I know this is a difficult time. Garry was a wonderful person, he was my atty and was always so sweet and funny when I was in the office. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
May 03, 2008
My sincere condolences to Garry's family. I went to high school with Garry and became reacquainted with him again in the early 1980s when I would see him in the halls of the LC Government Center. I had several opportunities to work with Garry as he represented several developers who required zoning and building advice. More recently, I attempted to con him into sitting on the Plan Commission or Board of Zoning Appeals. I was really surprised that he was interested, but the timing just wasn't right. We agreed we would try again in the near future. In our early school days, there were no middle schools, so we all went to Wirt after the sixth grade. Our 1972 class spent six years together. Although I wasn't great friends with Garry, he has always been around and has always taken the time to stop and talk. Like everyone else, I will really miss him and cannot stop thinking about him.
May 03, 2008
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I would like to express my condolences for the loss of your husband, father, brother, and friend, Mr. Weiss.

When a loved one dies, the pain, the grief, and feeling of helplessness can seem unbearable. At such times, we need to seek God’s Word for comfort. At Isaiah 25:8a, its states: “He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears form all faces.”

May this promise help you(Mrs. Weiss) and your children(Lauren, and Max) as the family grieve the loss of a wonderful person, Mr. Weiss.

With Deepest Sympathy

What a deep and personal loss for all of us. “When he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun.” Wm.S

With lasting affection, dear friend, & on behalf of all those you worked with at the UAW Ford Legal Services Plan for so many years.

We can't begin to tell you how deeply saddened and shocked we were to hear about Garry. I can still feel the warmth in the conversation we had about Lauren's college choices when I was up in Indiana last summer. Cindy, nothing can comfort you right now but please let others help you through your grief. You are a strong woman and Garry's spirit will always be with you. His kindness will live on through Lauren and Max. He will be greatly missed but NEVER forgotton by anyone he has touched.

To the Weiss family,
Words will never replace Garry but memories will continue on for the rest of our lives. Having sat next to Garry Tuesday at the bowling alley, we talked about his cigar, it never seemed to get any smaller. His comment to me was you have to know how to smoke them! He will be missed! He was a great person to talk to and he was one fantastic bowler!

The news of Garry's passing is both shocking and extremely painful. Though there are no words to make this time less difficult, our only hopes are that Cindy, Max and Lauren find comfort in knowing that so many people loved Garry. Our truly deepest sympathies go out to the entire Weiss family. At this time we are reminded of what a truly wonderful person Garry was and the amazing memories we created with him. Larry, Marlene, Tracy, Howie,
I am still in total shock, and as much as you, it is for me very hard to believe. I had talked to him not long ago about getting together this year to play some golf. I am so very sorry. I am actually stuck for words. It is just when you have known someone for so long and his family I guess whatever would soothe your pain, I want to be able to do it for you. The memories will live on in our hearts. We have to admit he was a comic. I wasn't sure how he got to play golf so well though. Whatever, and I mean whatever I can do for any of you, please don't hesitate to contact me. I am ever so sorry again for your loss.
Love, Rod

Garry was a great attorney. He would always stick up for what he felt was right. I enjoyed the many conversations and discussions he and I have had over the years. At the lawyers memorial in January Garry spoke about he cousin, I shed tears thinking about next years memorial when someone will be speaking about him. I used to tease him that I thought he looked like General Zod from Superman II the movie. This is a great loss to the legal community. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest well my friend.

I was shocked and very sad to read about the loss of Mr. Gary Weiss passing into the spirtual world. Mr. Weiss was very professional in all his cout hearings won 95% of the cases. He will be missed by all the people that he helped in all the legal matters. I had the honor of working with him in Lake County Juvenile Court for over 13 years. I enjoyed his brillent knowledge on all legal matters in many of the court hearings.

May he rest in peace--his family should take comfort in knowing he lived his life to the fullest. I'll always thank for him for the opportunity he extended to me early in my career.
