John and I were good friends during our high school days and I have many good memories of those days.. We also played on a softball team together and he was a good fast pitch pitcher. John was a great friend and we shared many good times together.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and the whole family. I belonged to the church and was baptized by Brother John. I will always remember his kind words and when he sang at my mother's funeral " In the Garden". Such a beautiful song. He will be truly missed here on Earth but the angels in heaven are rejoicing for another has come home.
I am picturing Grandpa Starks on the bass fiddle, David and Elwood on guitars, Connie Lynn on piano or accordian, and now Uncle John on his Ukulele, (guest Bill on the electric guitar), and Grandma Starks all singing together in harmony and playing in the heavenly choir... and maybe some Hawaiian music for fun. Just like we used to do during the holidays. Uncle John lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
Aunt Connie, God has called for Uncle John to reward him, for he spent his life serving others. With these words we send you feelings of comfort and strength. Vivian Starks-Ritter
Dear Connie & family, I was so sad to hear of Brother John's passing. I was raised in Hessville Christian Church and Brother John baptized me. Fond memories of a great man I have and you too Connie! When I think of First Christian Church of Hessville, I will always think of Brother John! Our loss is Heaven's gain!
To the Snyder family,
Words cannot express how sorry I am for the loss of brother John. But in the midst of this grief, I am thankful, as I know you are, that he is no longer suffering in this world, but is now with our Lord. I can't begin to express just how much John meant to me, and the influence he had on my entire life growing up in the Hessville Church. He will be missed so very much. I will always remember the many times he would sing the song "Because He Lives" and ask me to accompany him on the piano. This is just one of the special memories I will hold in my heart. Praying for all of you that God will comfort you as only He can do. I am looking forward to the day when we are all going to be together again in the presence of Jesus.
With much love and prayers,
Terri Bewley Conner

Connie and Family - It is with great sadness that I read of John's passing. When we were at Southlake Christian, it was a pleasure to get to know another "cousin". Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss. Karen (Mager) Hearne.
Brother John was a admirable man. He has been an integral part of my family for generations and will be greatly missed.
A great man of God. Bold, fearless and humble. A role model for many preachers.
Rest In Peace Brother John.
Pastor Snyder leaves a legacy of faithfulness to his love of the Lord. He had a profound influence on me as a teenager. I am so thankful for the opportunity to know him and his family. We know he has reached his Heavenly reward and was welcomed "home" by his Father and Savior.
Dear Connie & Family.
