RAMONA ANN ALCANTAR
Ramona Ann Alcantar, age 58, 100% Native American of the Choctaw Tribe, from the Mississippi Region, daughter of Christine and Henry Chickaway, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012. Her death was preceded by her two daughters: Donna Alcantar, one month old, and Lucy Alcantar, 26 years old. She is survived by her best friend, forever loving husband of 43 years and companion for 45 years, Salvador Alcantar; and her forever grateful children: Linda Kubiak, Laura Arcuri, Lisa "Alcantar", and Salvador Alcantar Jr.; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and the many lives she touched in so many ways. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday May 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. John Bosco Catholic Church 7113 Columbia Ave. with Fr. Richard Orlinski officiating. Ramona will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service. At rest St. John Cemetery Hammond. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 16, 2012 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory, 14 Kennedy Ave. (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville. All friends and family are invited to pay their respects and show support. Ramona was a woman who always smiled in the face of adversity, always saw a glass half full, and always shared with those who asked. She was loving, caring, and there to listen. Her smile could infect a community and whatever she enjoyed those around could not help but to enjoy as well. Whether a monster movie, a couple hours at a casino, or a day fishing she enjoyed life for every moment she was blessed with it. Those who survive her will never forget the impact she has had. "Mona, I know you will watch me every day from now on but I want you to know: I miss you, I know I will be with you again soon, Whenever God calls I will be waiting, ready to join the only love of my life into eternity, you are my world" -Salvador Alcantar

Grandma, How do I say this...I miss you and love you so much. I miss talking to you for hours on the phone about everything and anything. I know you don't want me to remember you sick so I won't. I miss you grandma, I miss your hugs, your love, your smile, your laugh. It is so hard for me not to think about you. I promis to say a prayer for you and make sure the angels take care of you. Grandma, I just want you to know that I love you with all my heart. Check in on me from time to time. I love you.

Your smile was like a ray of sunshine. Your laughter like a joyful noise. Your kisses like the feel of Rose petals. Your hugs like a tender momma bear. We will miss all of this but know you will be there in spirit always. Fly with the angles and know we are all here knowing one day we will meet again. Love you Mom

HERE'S A POEM JUST FOR YOU.
A beautiful angel is all that is here
Saying O'Lord please leave me here
Not ready to leave but has to go
Wants to go back but God says no
A husband and children
Grandchildren and friends
A meaningful life that suddenly ends
And angel is what she was meant to be
Now think of all that she can see
Watching over her family night and day
Saying I love you in her own special way
In the night we sleep and in the day we cry
While she watches us all from her star in the sky

Mom tomorrow will definately be hard but thursday will be the hardest. I feel so alone and The sadness that i feel is truly overwhelming. Yet I still feel like you are my driving force in my head and my heart. I need my friend , my confidant, my mother. The only woman who would catch me when i fell and slapped me when I needed to snap out of stuff. Please come hold me for the next two day I'm going to need My family from the other side. I see your in a beautiful place and know that your more happy now than you have been in a while. On a brighter note I know you are no longer suffering.
Love always, and forever your daughter Lisa Filiczkowski.
