Our family is so sorry to hear of Dr. Fusillo's passing. She has helped us in so many different ways with our sons' food allergies. Her out-of-the-box thinking and skill as a physician truly changed our lives. For that we are forever grateful. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this difficult time.

To Christine Fusillo’s family,
Our hearts go out to everyone in Dr. Christine Fusillo's family and to her many friends. We all know -- we lost a good one. Dr. Fusillo really was exceptional -- with a huge heart, a great sense of humor, and a brilliant mind. Without any doubt, she helped alter my family's fears and anxiety as we faced life threatening food allergies and asthma. Her attitude made all things possible, her committed conversations gave us understanding and comprehension, and her patience and guidance gave us strength of purpose.
I can't believe that she is gone -- we will miss her so much. In addition to the medical problems we discussed, I will miss our long chats about everything from the proper clothes to wear to work to the challenges we both faced raising a family and balancing our work and marriages. Over the 15 years that we all knew Dr. Fusillo, our friendship grew along side our doctor/patient relationships. She took care of my whole family and my sister's family and then friends of mine as well. She helped me in my fledgling years of creating a food allergy support group, she offered advice when I had troubles educating family, friends and the school district about food allergies, and she discussed all the latest research and email that I passed along to her from the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, newspaper articles, and research papers. We discussed all the latest findings, she would explain scientific details to me and we both would get excited about what lay ahead. I will always hear her clear and funny greeting when we came into her office: “Hey, it's the Holliday girls! Come on in!” She sparkled when she talked and she put my kids at ease when they had to face those skin tests.
She clearly loved her family and talked about her children and home with excitement and passion and I would always be amazed by how she balanced it all with her work. I know it is a tragic loss for those closest to her, her husband and children, mother and siblings -- my family sends our deepest condolences to each of you as you struggle to deal with your loss and the difficult months you have all shared and will continue to share.
We're all so very lucky to have known her.

I was and am so sorry to hear about Dr Fusillo's passing. She was a special physician, one who looked beyond the tests and observed the clinical aspects of our son's issues. She was open minded (a rarity among the doctors we encountered) to alternative ideas and solutions, creative, rational and helpful. I will miss her wisdom and wish I could have let her know these thoughts. Our prayers and thoughts are with her family.

There is a special place in Heaven for Dr. Fusillo. As so many people have already stated, she was not only a doctor but a friend to everyone. As a doctor she was so caring and comforting and helpful. My kids and I have all gone to her for years. She always took a personal interest in us and in our lives. Her incredible warmth was a blessing to us all and she will be very much missd.
My condolences to her family, of whom she spoke often.

Dr. Fusillo was one of the most caring of doctors I was fortunate to meet. She knew exactly how to treat the various problems I was having and allowed me to live a better, healthier life. For that I will always be thankful.

Dr. Fusillo had such a kind soul and a beautiful spirit; an amazing wit and a great smile. I will miss her.

We were absolutely devastated to learn that Dr. Fusillo has passed away. For the past 11 years she had held our hands as we navigated the world for the severely allergic. She was an amazing doctor and human being and we will miss her terribly. Our sympathies to her lovely family whom she spoke of so often and with so much love. We enjoyed meeting them all and hope they know that they are in our prayers. The world has lost a wonderful woman but we know she is at peace in heaven and will always live on in our hearts.

I was saddened to read of Dr. Fusillo's passing on September 26, 2010. She was that rare doctor who was able to care about her patients as a doctor and as a human being. I will always remember her asking me to send her links to my published poetry whenever she saw me and laughing with me over my brother stories.

"That though the radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind." (William Wordsworth)

My sister, mentor, teacher, friend. Your love, light and knowledge -- among so many other things -- have indeed left this world a better place. I will love and miss you forever.
