It is with great sadness that my wife Lina and I learned of Dr. Fusillo's passing. As young parents grappling with pediatric allergies and asthma, we were so relieved when we were referred to Dr. Fusillo. Her kind and caring manner was such a reassurance that our children could make it through their struggle with their allergies. Her willingness to take the time to speak with her patients at length about their allergies and their lives was an uncommon pleasure. Dr. Fusillo's life was short but she accomplished so much and she made such a positive impact in so many lives. Her selfless commitment to her profession and her patients is all too uncommon in modern medicine. Her life story is an inspiration to everyone. We are all the better for knowing Christine Fusillo and we mourn her loss greatly. If there are Saints on Earth, Christine Fusillo was one.
I leave with the following Irish Blessing
"Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die...:
