KOCH--Edward I. On behalf of the LaGuardia Community College community I offer condolences to the family and friends of one of New York's most popular and beloved mayors. We mourn the loss of a great man, but reflect with gratitude on the honor he bestowed upon us to preserve his legacy of public service in the Koch Collection housed in the La Guardia and Wagner Archives here on campus. As one of the College's earliest and most passionate advocates, Mayor Koch was larger than life and passionate about improving life for all residents of the city he loved. His love for New York was evident not only in his exuberant engagement with his constituents, but in his diligence in facilitating the city's economic rebound in the wake of the fiscal crisis of the 1970s. LaGuardia is committed to ensuring that students and scholars study this historic city leader's legacy for years to come. Dr. Gail O. Mellow, President
