My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I just found out ~ I have been thinking of Dr. Corryllos endlessly the past year and a half... I was home in NY around the time of her passing and I wanted to stop by the house and i didn't get the chance. I kept calling though... Something kept eating at me back then.... Thank you so much to your mommy and wife.
She saved my life when I was 15. My Angel... I miss her dearly... She was one of my bestest friends every time we would talk. I can still hear her voice and laughter. I wish I got to see her... I will talk to her every day. I will remember all her love and support as a mom & friend - she wasn't just my doctor... She was a life long friend and confidant. Another mom... I miss her dearly. You have my condolences... My prayers. God bless you all. I'm so lucky to have known her... To have had her magical hands save me. Give me a chance to a good life. God bless. Xoxoxo

Dr. Coryllos was my hero! In 1963, I was born with no esophagus. Your mom operated on me and gave my parents a miracle. I lived a normal life, married with two children. In 2000, at age 36, I had problems with an infection that I did not know was there. My body adjusted over the years until it had enough. My parents contacted Dr. Coyllos once again! She remembered me and everything about my surgery. She took over and saved my life again. I spent 52 days in Winthrop hospital with your mom at my side. As an adult, I finally met my hero and was able to get to know her as a person. I always knew what an unbelievable doctor she was! She talked about her family often and had a shine when she did. I always felt comforted when she was with me. I am turning 50 this year and I treasure my life. I am very grateful to have known such a special person. Your family will always have a place in my heart.

The day I met Betty for the first time, at her beautiful farm in upstate NY, she wrapped her heart around me and my children as if she had known us forever. Never once did we reconnect after any length of time, without first catching up on our children. Even with deadlines and patients/clients ever in need of our attention, there was always time for the conversations that mothers and human beings need to have with one another...as if she magically breathed extra space into the moment to make room for so much life. Her love for her precious family, her love for the family of humankind and her egoless intellect were a magical combination. Words cannot express how deeply this remarkable woman influenced my life. There was and never will be anyone else like her, but we can all aspire to come close.
All my love to the Lardi family.

We met at what was Nassau Hospital (Winthrop) in 1983. At the time, I was a medical secretary and Dr. Coryllos was a brilliant pediatric surgeon. We became friends, laughed, had lunches and so many memories in her office down the hall from mine. My deepest sympathy to the Lardi Family I am grateful to have known such a wonderful soul.
