I am so sorry to learn that Dr. Coryllos is no longer with us. When I started working for the OI Foundation she was so very helpful and encouraging. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family.

I knew Dr Coryllos working as a Nurse in Pediatrics at South Nassau Communities Hospital. As a new young nurse, encountering many Doctors that were intimidating and cold, she was a ray of light. She would often appear at 3am to check on a sick child, and comfort a parent. I Loved her unique style and ability to take her time and know each patient , their families and their individual needs all the while healing them. She was a wonderful soul and I will remember her always.

dear Bet - I remember so well your determination from a very early age to reach your goals. Determination, compassion, skill and love. I salute you as I have for over 80 years. I cry a little - and smile too.

To the Loving family, I just heard from my friend Lee Galasso that Betty died and I am sending many hugs your way. She was an inspiration to me and so many of us in the breastfeeding community and I loved her a lot. God bless. Virginia Moore RN,, Tarrytown,NY

Betty was my "surrogate" mother during residency ( that's how she called it). We work together, we travelled together, she came to my house many times and we shared meals together. Her loving presence and compassion to everyone were one of the most valuable teaching I had during my training. She truly healed from her heart and I will always bring a part of her when I enter every patient's room. She showed me what Medicine is all about. May she continue, wherever she is, to inspire compassionate healing in many lives. I send prayers to her family and all her loved ones for such a loss,
With love, always,
Andrea Vianna and family

Having spent the majority of my professional career at Winthrop Hospital, Betty Coryllos was there to help, support and shape me during those "early years". Our conversations about Pediatric surgery, trauma, tongue ties, lactation counseling and mini ponies will always resound in my fond memories of an amazing and dedicated human being. My deepest condolences go out to the Lardi Family.
