I have enjoyed sesame street as a child for years and have enjoyed Mr. Jerry Nelson's Fraggle rock. May the family find comfort in the God of all comfort during this time.
What an amazing man. I shed a tear when I learned of his passing. We will truly miss him for all that he has done. You cannot leave the magic. Briana Stream Lifelong Fraggles & Muppet Fan
Our paths crossed at Shepperton to create a little magic. The warmth, friendship, and generosity you showed me will forever permeate our festive manifestation. My thoughts are with Jan and your family. RIP Jerry.
To Jerry Nelson.
You did an amazing playing the Count on Seasame Street. I used to watch you play those muppets on Seasame Street when I was a little girl and you just great. Lisa Weiner
That was one of the voices that I grew up with, teaching me letters, numbers, and to believe in myself and the value of others. Rest in peace.
In memory of Jerry Nelson, Watched Sesame Street while studying education (majored in Math) in the early 70's. Never really thought much about who the Count was at the time. My grandson LOVES the Count. Was saddened when I heard of Jerry's passing. Jerry made many children happy with his characters. A Grandmother in Radville, Saskatchewan

May it bring Jerry's family some comfort knowing that The Count is loved by a little boy in Canada, so much that he sleeps with five counts (three figurines and two stuffed) every night. We have a hard time leaving the house without at least one count. Logan had his 2nd birthday Aug. 23, 2012. With a count theme. Everything in his world is "the count". Jerry's voice is heard everyday on DVD in this house. Every time he is on, Logan screams and dances "Mom, Mom the Count, mom look the count".
Thank you Jerry for entertaining my son. I don't know how I would get anything done with out you. RIP.
Although he is too young to understand Jerry's passing, he will never forget The Count.
I LOVE YOU COUNT - Logan Ady, Age 2
CANADA
May the God of comfort and peace be with Jerry dear family.

My son loves count and when I was growing up so did I and I will always love count

We have lost a gentle, beautiful, creative soul that revealed to multiple generations the whimsical, wondrous, light-filled, imaginative and KIND side of life. He will be missed, and we are left lesser without him and voice in our chorus. Let us hope that he has inspired a kindred spirit to be likewise: an entertainer of that which is edifying.
The man who I have admired for his work! We need more men like Jerry Nelson! you will always be remembered and I will always raise my kids on his work! "fragel Rock"... etc.. :) Thanks you so much for your work and how much it has impacked Society.

Hello Jan, My sincere condolences to you. As you know, Jerry and I were good friends from the early 1970's until I moved abroad and after I returned here. Feel free to contact me on fb or on gmail. Much love to you, Jenna

. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. As a child, Sesame Street was my favorite show, and of course Count was a favorite too....I also enjoyed Fraggle Rock, and a couple months ago my kids got to see Fraggle Rock and fell in love with it. As others have said, we may not have known your face from TV, but you have helped 2 generations of kids learn and imagine and for that I THANK YOU!
Growing up with sesame street and the muppets and the count with his counting number episode for the day and harry, it was a sad thing to hear jerry has ascended w the angels, god bless his family and loved ones he has left behind, and the puppets will never b quite the same knowing jerry isnt part of their control in the future. We all will miss him.
Only a very gentle soul could dedicate his life to stimulating the imagination of children by bringing joy and music, magic and fantasy into their lives. Jerry Nelson was part of a unique band of artists the world will never see again and we were lucky to have experienced this in our life time. My deepest Sympathies to his Family and friends, we are forever thankful to his memory.
Oh so terribly sad. Your talent lead our son to now be in your business. He loves you all_ as does all of America!!!! When our kids learned to count it always included ah ah ah! Teachers called to ask us to try and get them not to add ah ah ah..... hahaha you've brought laughter to our lives. God Bless, The Montgomery Family
Jerry Nelson Family, Relatives and Friends:
Our deepest sympathy to "MR COUNT's" Memory. You made my children's lives so happy as they watched Seseme Street since it first began. My introduction to the characters came at a small PRE-School meeting prior to the beginning show and I was happy to be there to discuss the airing. When it began my son loved it and when my daugher came along she too, fell in love with the show. YOU HELPED both of my kids learn to count and I'm forever grateful for that. Your voice will live long in their memory banks.
God Bless you for all you've done over the years to help all children learn and grow.
May YOUR SOUL and all the soul's of the dearly departed, REST IN PEACE...and may Perpetual Light shine upon them and YOU!
Sincerely

Jerry Nelson left a wonderful legacy with his characters that helped children learn. I remember babysitting a toddler who was thrilled every time Sesame Street came on. We'd count along with the gentle, amusing Count. She became a teacher. I think that is a "thank you" for a fine influence in those formative first few years. Jerry...For many years you brought a ray of sunshine into the innocent lives of so many children. As an adult watching my daughter grow, I enjoyed imitating the Count. It was so much fun...so much that I still do it today with kids at church and in the community. You were simply the best. Anyway, to the Nelson family, I extend my deepest sympathy and a big thank you for letting Jerry come into our lives and our homes. He will be greatly missed!!!!
There are no words to express the loss of another "voice" to many incredible, lovable, talented Muppets like Count, Gobo, and others. May his family, friends, colleagues and his public take comfort in enjoying his performances through the miracles of recorded history that are readily available to us and may we pass on his legacy to future generations. Rest in Peace, you will be greatly missed.
