GUNTHER--Phyllis E., died on Sunday, May 18th. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. She believed in justice and equal opportunity. She was District Leader and on Community Board 7. She was generous and a deeply caring woman. Funeral is 3pm Wednesday, May 21st at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th St. Shiva is Thursday and Friday, 2-7pm and Saturday 11am-8pm at 303 West 66th St., Apt. 4CW.

As a community advocate , I always bumped into Phyllis at different community events. She was tireless and dedicated to helping those in need. Purity in commitment! She´s missed to this day.

I met Phyllis first in the early 1960s when her children were enrolled in PS199 where my mother Rose Revesz was a teacher. They became friends. Over the years through our mutual interest in justice, politics and the UWS, Phyllis and I became friends. I will miss her presence, generosity and insights
